We recently assisted a New York-based non-profit offering school, community and hospital-based youth-focused interventions, gain tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3). Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code confers tax exempt status to non-profits with the following purposes: charitable, religious, educational, scientific, literary, testing for public safety, fostering amateur sports competition, or preventing cruelty to children or animals.
