On July 13, the U.S. Department of State announced that embassies and consulates around the world will gradually resume routine nonimmigrant and immigrant visa services. Each consular post will begin routine visa services on its own timeline, depending on the conditions of the host country.
Some consulates postponed their interviews while some were cancelled outright. Applicants who have pending applications should check their emails and other communication methods for the latest information on how to rebook their interviews.
The Department of State suspended visa services worldwide in March 2020 due to the COVID pandemic. DoS has not provided an exact date that visa processing will begin again. Applicants should check the individual U.S. Embassy or Consulate’s website for specific information.
