We just had an EB-2 national interest waiver approval for an engineer. The application was approved without an RFE and the applicant will now transition to a green card. National Interest waiver petitions are green card petitions that show that the individual possess qualifications that are important to the U.S. Government such that the labor certification that is normally required for EB-2 petitions (PERM) is waived. After a landmark case in 2018, NIW petitions are possible for entrepreneurs also.
