We just had an E-3 visa approval for an Australian national at the U.S. Consulate in Sydney. The applicant will be working for a major e-commerce company based in New York. He had been working at the company during his “12 Month Work & Travel” J-1 program which is available for nationals of Australia and New Zealand. E-3 visas are granted for 2 year validity periods and can be renewed indefinitely. While it requires an Labor Condition Application (“LCA”), it does not require a petition to be filed with USCIS and applicants can apply directly at a U.S. consulate to obtain the visa.
