The U.S. Embassy in Madrid will resume visa processing on July 20, 2020. Visa services will resume in phases, however Madrid has not announced which visas will take priority. The consulates in London and Belfast are processing immigrant visas for spouses and children of U.S. citizens; F-1 and M-1 student visa categories first.

Some consulates postponed their interviews while some were cancelled outright. Applicants who have pending applications should check their emails and other communication methods for the latest information on how to rebook their interviews.

The Presidential Proclamation suspending some non-immigrants from entering the U.S. is still in place until December 31.
