We recently received approval of an E-2 investor visa renewal from the U.S. Embassy in London for a national of the United Kingdom. The applicant is the owner of a commercial trucking and logistics company in the State of Arizona that provides interstate freight transportation services.
Our firm’s presentation focused on the company’s financial growth, workforce expansion, and continued operational success, which helped secure the E-2 visa renewal approval.
A renewal is a full review rather than a formality. An E-2 visa is issued for a fixed period, and when that period ends the investor has to satisfy the same requirements over again. The government looks at whether the enterprise is still real and operating, whether the investment remains committed and at risk, and whether the business has grown beyond supporting the investor and their family alone.
Renewing an E-2 visa at a consulate produces a new visa in the passport, which is what permits an investor to leave and re-enter the United States. An extension granted inside the country does not.
British applicants also carry a requirement that no other treaty nationals face. Beyond holding a U.K. passport, they must reside in the British Isles, and the London post weighs that connection qualitatively rather than against any fixed test.
A transportation business suits this kind of review well, because the record trail is concrete. Fleet, payroll, contracts, and revenue all appear in documents an officer can weigh directly, which is what makes growth and workforce expansion possible to evidence rather than merely assert.
If your E-2 visa is approaching expiry, schedule a consultation with our team to review your evidence and your timing.
