We just had a Canadian TN approval at the San Ysidro port of entry at the U.S. and Mexico border. The applicant was granted the visa for 3 years under the lawyer category. Mexican nationals applying for TN visas must do so at a consulate but TN applications for Canadian nationals can be adjudicated at a port of entry, including ones at the Mexican border. It is recommended to call the port of entry in advance of applying given the current situation with COVID-19.
