One of our Scott Legal lawyers received an approval on an O-1 petition that he recently worked on. The client was an architectural and interior designer who was being petitioned by a leading hospitality design firm and was in the United States as a student working at the firm during her Optical Practical Training (OPT) following her graduate studies. The success of this O-1 petition, along with many others, exemplifies the fact that it is not necessarily the number of years of experience that matters in an O-1 petition, but the quality and presentation of the evidentiary materials that matters. Despite the client’s relatively short work experience, by accentuating the client’s key accomplishments and recognitions throughout the petition as well as deploying all the strategies and tactics to build an optimal O-1 petition, the case was approved within nine days of filing via regular processing.
