We just had a B1/B2 visa approval for an Australian national at the U.S. Consulate in Melbourne. Australian nationals are eligible for ESTA but may want to apply for a B1/B2 visa if they plan to stay in the U.S. for longer than 3 months at a time. With a B1/B2 visa, a foreign national is eligible to stay in the U.S. for six months as a tourist or business visitor. If you are interested in obtaining an E-2 investor visa and need to visit the U.S. to look into investment opportunities, you can do this as a B-1 business visitor.
