We are pleased to share that our client recently obtained approval for a marriage based green card after applying to adjust status from within the United States. The client previously held E-2 status and became eligible to pursue permanent residence based on marriage to a U.S. citizen. This approval marks an important milestone for the couple as they continue building their life together in the United States.
Because the marriage was less than two years old at the time of adjudication, the client received a conditional green card valid for two years. This conditional period is an expected part of the immigration process and is designed to confirm that the marriage is genuine. Before the two year card expires, the couple must jointly file a petition to remove the conditions and provide documentation showing that the relationship continues to be real and ongoing.
