Rumors: Trump Administration May Impose Toll on Mexico US Border Crossing

By August 21, 2020March 31st, 2021News

President Trump said during a Republic convention that the U.S. may impose a toll on travelers crossing the U.S. and Mexico border. Trump claimed the toll would pay for the constructions of the border wall. There are more than 330 ports of entry along the U.S. and Mexico border with tens of thousands of individuals crossing the border every day. Currently crossing the border is free unless the individual crossing is applying for a new I-94 or visa.

There is no official policy at this time. It is unknown how much the toll will be or whether this will apply to all travelers including U.S. permanent residents and citizens.
