
Scott Legal, P.C. is pleased to announce that Rebekah Kim, Esq. will join the firm as a full-time associate on February 1, 2018. Ms. Kim will focus on immigration matters.
Ms. Kim earned her juris doctorate from American University Washington College of Law, and her undergraduate degree in Political Science from Wellesley College. Ms. Kim was a recipient of the Gates Millennium Scholarship throughout her undergraduate studies. During law school, she was honored with a Fellowship from the Asian Pacific American Bar Association and recipient of the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association Student Leadership Award.
Prior to law school, Ms. Kim worked as an immigration paralegal at Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy, LLP for several years, working on a wide array of business immigration cases including H-1B, L-1, TN, PERM, and employment-based green cards.
During law school, Ms. Kim showed a continued interest in immigration law. She served as a Student Attorney in the Immigrant Justice Clinic, where she successfully obtained asylum for a client in immigration detention at the Arlington Immigration Court, and also filed a successful T visa for a victim of human trafficking with USCIS. In addition, Ms. Kim served as a Law Clerk at the American Bar Association Commission on Immigration.
Prior to joining Scott Legal, Ms. Kim worked at law firms in New Jersey and New York and obtained successful outcomes for corporate and individual clients across a number of temporary and permanent visa categories, including EB-1A for individuals with extraordinary abilities, national interest waivers (NIW), H-1B specialty occupation visas, L-1 intracompany transferee visas, and O-1 extraordinary ability visas in the fields of business, finance, graphic design, interior design, product design, fashion design, culinary arts, music, science, engineering, and medicine, among many others.
Ms. Kim is admitted to practice law in California and is fluent in Korean.
