This week Portugal was added to the E-2 visa Treaty list. With this addition, nationals from Portugal can start or purchase a business in the U.S. The full set of E-2 visa requirements can be found here. Countries can be added to the list when a Treaty is agreed to between the country and the United States. Recently, Israel and New Zealand were added to the list. It is not clear yet how long the E-2 visa can be issued for Portugal but this should be disclosed by the U.S. Government soon. We welcome Portuguese nationals to the E-2 visa Treaty fold.
