The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) have released Fiscal Year 2019 H-1B application numbers. This year, a total of 190,098 H-1B cap petitions were received, of this, 95,885 were submitted towards the cap exemption of 20,000 for holders of U.S. advanced degrees and 94,213 were submitted towards the standard quota of 65,000.
As announced yesterday, the agency ran two lotteries on April 11 to select which cases will be processed to completion. Employers whose petitions are selected for processing should get filing receipts in the coming days, receipts will be mailed to petitioners or their attorneys by regular mail. Cases not selected in the lottery will be returned to applicants with their filing fees. The petitions that are selected will be adjudicated but do not expect results any time soon as premium processing has been suspended.
