We just had a Mexican TN approval at the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City. The applicant was granted the visa for 1 year under the lawyer category. The interview was waived since it was a renewal application. Interview waivers are available for certain applicants who are renewing their visa where their visa has expired within the last 24 months. Mexican nationals applying for TN visas must do so at a U.S. Consulate or U.S. Embassy, but TN applications for Canadian nationals can be adjudicated at a port of entry. It is recommended to call the port of entry in advance of applying given the current situation with COVID-19.
