Children on an E-2 Visa can live and study in the U.S. but cannot work and must transition to another visa by age 21.

E-2 Visa

If your children will be aging out of the E2 dependent visa, they can apply for another non immigrant visa such as for example the F-1 Student visa.

Your child can stay in the US on E status until he turns 21, and then will have to leave the U.S. and apply for a visa or change status in the U.S.
